Redmi K40 may use Snapdragon 870 processor with higher refresh rate of 120Hz

A few days ago, Redmi officially confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K40 series will be uncovered in February. The company has also revealed some features and pricing of this lineup. Meanwhile now, a piece of new news claims that there is also a special version of Redmi K40.

The special version is reportedly equipped with Qualcomm’s new flagship Snapdragon 870 SoC. And it will a face-to-center screen design with a small front-facing hole diameter.

He further revealed that the smart device will be adorned with a 2.8mm ultra-small aperture screen, which may be the smallest hole in the market. The Redmi K40 screen may use Samsung’s E4 luminous material to create an OLED display.

This is the same technology as Mi 11, it can achieve better display effects, and can support a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The Company says it may be the most expensive in the industry. Face the screen directly.

It is worth mentioning that because of Snapdragon 870 processor, the price of this Redmi K40 will be lower than the ‘2999 yuan’, which was announced previously. But users should not have to worry about the lack of performance of the Snapdragon 870.

The Snapdragon 870 uses an enhanced version of the Kryo 585 CPU core. The main frequency of the large core is up to 3.2GHz, which is 100MHz higher than the previous generation. It uses the same process and architecture as the Snapdragon 865 therefore, the performance will be even better.

Other than this, the Geekbench score of the Snapdragon 870 is 1034 in single-core and 3513 in multi-core, which is much higher than that of the Snapdragon 865, even nearer to the modern flagship Snapdragon 888.

Adding to this, Redmi K40 will be equipped with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory, so there is no need to worry about performance. While the other details of the K40 models are under wraps, we should wait for more leaks or news, which may arrive in the coming days/weeks.
