Xiaomi Redmi K40 could come with MediaTek 1200 processor

Recently, we have been confirmed that on January 20 we will be introduced to a new product from Dimensity Series. The news reveals that this is MediaTek’s MT689x new platform, and the first 6nm high-performance processor is coming.

Meanwhile today, Lu Weibing, the Vice president of Xiaomi, General Manager of Redmi Brand, and President of China unveiled that the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition which equips Dimensity 1000+ has now come to the end of the product. They have also stated that the new Dimensity flagship chip is coming in 2021.

The Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition was officially uncovered in August last year. The smartphone comes with a 120Hz AMOLED pop-up display, Dimensity 1000+, large VC heat dissipation, running score of 53W+. It equipped with Sony 64 million four cameras, 50mm telephoto macro, dual speakers, 4500mAh, 33W flash charging, and many more.

Other than this, some reports say that the upcoming Redmi K40 smartphones will come with the new Dimensity chip. Also, it was cleared that MediaTek has two upcoming chips. One of them is the 6nm chip MT6893, which uses the ARM Cortex-A78 core design. When compared with the current 7nm process, the highest frequency of the main core is 3.0GHz.
