The present disclosure relates to a steering wheel release detection method, device, readable storage medium, and vehicle, and relates to the field of automatic driving. The method includes: periodically acquiring a capacitance value collected by a capacitance sensor for a steering wheel of a vehicle; acquiring a torque value collected by a torque sensor for the steering wheel; periodically determining a capacitance value varies according to the capacitance value and a predetermined capacitance reference value.

When the capacitance value change amount is less than a predetermined capacitance value change amount threshold and the operating state of the capacitance sensor is not in an effective state, a disengagement detection result is determined according to the operating state of the capacitance sensor and the torque value. In this way, even in some special usage scenarios, it can accurately detect whether the steering wheel is released, which provides accurate information for the assisted driving system and improves driving safety.

Recently, Xiaomi has demonstrated the ability of autonomous driving technology algorithms and full-scene coverage. Lei Jun said that Xiaomi’s autonomous driving technology adopts a full-stack self-developed technology layout strategy, and the project has made more than expected progress. The goal is to enter the first camp of autonomous driving in 2024. Up to now, Xiaomi has invested 3.3 billion yuan in R&D in the first phase of autonomous driving and has established a top-level R&D team with over 500 people. The medium and long-term industrial layout of the field.
