Recently, Qualcomm has finally announced the release of the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 7 Gen 1 processors. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the 7 Gen 1, the successor to Qualcomm’s mid-range processors. With the new processors, they may address Qualcomm’s recent issues.
Both are Qualcomm’s most recent flagship processors, and both are manufactured by the TSMC’s 4nm node process. The specification of both chipsets is exciting and the best. The features include their amazing DSPs for image processing and AI processors. Also, Qualcomm’s performance claims are bold, as they are claiming a 10% increase in performance over the 8th generation while keeping GPU and CPU clock speeds down 30%.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 & 7 Gen 1 specs
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features a little similar to the Snapdragon X65 5G Modem. With the new 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm claims they have reduced the clock speed slightly, and the processor will use less power, heat up less, and perform better than the original 8 Gen 1. With the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, Qualcomm declares 20% faster graphics performance, it will come with epic mobile gaming.
First devices to power by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 & 7 Gen 1
The first Xiaomi devices with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will be Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Redmi K50S Pro (Xiaomi 12T Pro). And for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the first device to feature the midrange beast will be the OPPO Reno 8. Alongside the OPPO Reno 8, It will also include an upcoming Xiaomi device, which is the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5g NE.
