Moreover, Xiaomi came to Argentina a few years ago, but until now, there were no plans to produce smartphones within the country. During the landing, Xiaomi Argentina aims to market its first mid-range and high-end device, the Redmi Note 10 5G phone priced at almost 80,000 Argentine pesos (approximately RMB 4,832), the first to be announced in the country and in Latin America products (100,000 units in stock).

“Consumers want alternatives, they see Xiaomi as a brand that can offer alternatives, and the brand appreciates their real potential for growth and development in Argentina,” says Juan Pablo Bayardi from Etercor, the company was chosen as the distributor of Xiaomi China’s products.

In the first week of August 2021, two new models arrive. The Redmi Note 10s, with its quad cameras and long battery life, and the Redmi Note 10 Pro, stand out for its 108-megapixel camera. It was so popular with the Argentine public that it was “out of stock” in the first few weeks, according to Etercor.

Currently, the phones are imported devices and can be purchased exclusively through the official Xiaomi store in Mercado Libre, Frávega, or Red Megatone.

Judging from the confirmation letter received this Sunday, Xiaomi’s phones are expected to start domestic production in Argentina by Etercor, which has a factory in Tierra del Fuego (owned by Solnik) with the necessary industry to make state-of-the-art electronics equipment (for example, it manufactures HMD Global products and is an official licensee of the Nokia brand).

The Argentine company, which currently employs 400 people, will also be in charge of after-sales service for Xiaomi products, as well as the Bose, Nokia, and Apple brands.
