Xiaomi is all set to host a big launch event in China today (December 28). In the event, the tech giant will introduce Xiaomi 12 series, MIUI 13, MIUI 13 Pad, Surge P1, new Pad 5 variant, Watch S1, TWS Earbuds 3, and other home appliances.

Xiaomi 12 Series Specification
Xiaomi has confirmed to launch two flagship smartphones – Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. Reportedly, the company will also introduce Xiaomi 12X at the same time. The OEM has already announced several features and specifications that the new devices will come with.
Display
Both devices feature a punch-hole display that is placed at the top center. What differentiates the products are their display size. Xiaomi 12 is a small-sized high-end flagship that achieves breakthroughs in strength with innovation. Whereas, Xiaomi 12 Pro is an all-around high-end flagship that integrates a high-energy experience.
Processor
They will come equipped with Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This is the first chipset to bear Qualcomm’s new naming scheme, bypassing the triple-digit numbering system that Qualcomm has previously used for new, generation-based monikers.
Surge P1: Xiaomi will introduce its new Surge P1 charging chip in the event and Xiaomi 12 Pro will come equipped with this. It is the industry’s first to feature 120W single-cell charging technology.

Software
Xiaomi confirms that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will come pre-installed with MIUI 13 version that will itself uncover at today’s event. Of course, the MIUI 13 is based on Android 12 OS.
Camera
When talking about cameras, Xiaomi 12 equips a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera whereas Xiaomi 12 Pro will use Sony IMX707 sensor. On the front, the devices have a 32MP selfie shooter with a GAN-based beauty mode.
Battery
Xiaomi 12 will feature a 4,500mAh lithium cobalt oxide battery that sustains 30W wireless charging. When Xiaomi 12’s fast charging support is limited to 67W, the Pro model supports 120W fast charging.
