After a long wait, Xiaomi’s famous Redmi Note 8 finally gets an Android 11 update last month and MIUI 12.5 earlier this month. These were predicted the last major updates for the phone but it seems that the device is also eligible for MIUI 13.
Xiaomi MIUI 13 will reportedly launch on December 28. Ahead of the launch, the OEM has begun testing the new skin in some of its eligible devices to review its stability and security. So far, it was unclear whether the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 13 update will release, meanwhile xiaomiui reports it will get the update.

Going by the information, Redmi Note 8 MIUI 13 update is currently under internal testing and could go live somewhere in the second quarter of 2022. Of course, the firmware will be based on Android 11 as the company won’t seed Android 12 to Note 8, according to Xiaomi’s update policy.
To recall, Redmi Note 8 series was introduced in August 2019. It came pre-installed with Android 9 based MIUI 10 OS and is currently running on the Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 version.
Well, it does make sense that Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi CC9E will also get MIUI 13 updates because all of these phones have the same development.

Redmi Note 8 equips a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 2340×1080 pixels resolution. It sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and a 4000mAh battery with 18W Fast Charging.
Considering the camera, it comes with a 48MP quad-camera setup that includes 48MP Primary camera, an 8MP Ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP Depth Sensor, and a 2MP Macro lens.
