PUBG is a paid game since its launch on Steam in 2017. Recently, the maker of PUBG – Krafton announced at the Game Awards that the original PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (aka PUBG) will be moving to a free-to-play model from January 12, 2022.
PUBG has quickly become a big hit and prompted Epic Games to create a free Battle Royale mode for its new tower defense game called Fortnight. Since it will soon be free-to-play, there are a few things that will end up behind the charges after the switch.

Those who have already paid for PUBG will receive a PUBG special souvenir pack, which includes Battlegrounds Plus and additional games. Despite fierce competition, PUBG Battlegrounds has become popular and has sold 75 million copies since its release, Krafton Creative Director Dave Curd.
And on mobile, PUBG is one of the largest franchises around, Free-to-Play PUBG Mobile has been downloaded over 1 billion times and Krafton recently released its second free-to-play mobile PUBG game, PUBG: New State.
