Recently, Xiaomi’s co-founder and CEO, Lei Jun announced that the upcoming Xiaomi CiVi smartphone will offer pixel-level skin rejuvenation through its camera’s beauty mode.
According to him, the new Beauty Mode will bring out the true potential of users’ skin. Lei Jun’s Weibo post says, “I don’t believe in perfection, but I think everyone has their own beauty”.

In addition, the officials also showcased the front-facing camera’s beauty mode in action. We can clearly see CIVI’s selfie camera taking pictures of a user whose acne was almost seamlessly covered through the new beauty mode.
Lei Jun also used the social media platform to explain the workings of this new beauty mode. He said that advancements in technology enabled the company to offer skin rejuvenation at the pixel level.
Xiaomi says that using the Advanced Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) helps to “rebuild” the skin. While it seems promising, we’ll have to wait for actual trials to know about its true effectiveness.
Xiaomi CiVi: Launch Schedule
Xiaomi has already confirmed that the brand new CiVi smartphone will make its debut in China on September 27 at 14:00 (local time). However, at the moment, there are no words on its global release.
Xiaomi CiVi: Specifications
Xiaomi CiVi is Xiaomi’s 2021’s most beautiful smartphone. Recently, the tech giant revealed that the first CiVi will come equipped with a 32MP high-definition camera with dual soft lights. It will also have support for AF autofocus, which helps in indicating the position of a switch that can enable or disable the autofocus function.
Moreover, the phone will be 71.5mm wide so that even people with small hands like women can hold it comfortably. It will be 6.98mm thick and weigh 166 grams, making it thin and light, but this is still slightly higher than the current Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE.
Xiaomi CiVi: Design
Besides features, Xiaomi officially revealed its first glance, which looks really really attractive. It has a rectangular rear camera module with a triangular triple AI camera setup, make it seem more impressive.
In addition, the handset has a curved display and an AG Glass back. Xiaomi uses a metal frame instead of a plastic frame. In addition, the color combination with a gold-colored frame and a blue gradient rear finish is unique as well.
About placements, the power button and the volume rocker are placed on the right side of the smartphone, whereas, its opposite side is empty. The bottom of the device has a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, a primary microphone hole, and a SIM card slot.
Finally, the top houses a secondary microphone hole, an IR blaster, another speaker grille, and Dolby Atmos branding. More information may come soon as the launch date is just a few days from now.
