Launched back in December 2019, Redmi K30 5G is only official in China. It entered the smartphone market with a pre-installed Android 10 based MIUI 11 operating system. Later it received two major updates and is currently running on MIUI 12 based on the Android 11 operating system. It is also eligible to run MIUI 12.5.
Meanwhile, before the MIUI 12.5 update, the device is receiving the Android security patch for this month. Along with improving the system’s security, the new update brings a hand full of new features and optimizations.

As per the official changelog, the update adds a new function, i.e, swipe down from the upper left corner to open the Notification shade and from the upper right corner to open the Control center.
An option that allows you to restrict opening the Control center while on the Lock screen and another option to switch between connected devices in the notification about media playback.
It further optimizes brightness and color improvements for wallpapers in Dark mode. The full-screen gestures are now ignored on the Lock screen alarm page. Also, the GPS toggle renames as “Location”.

The April 2021 security patch for Redmi K30 5G comes with Android 11 based MIUI 12 built version V12.1.8.0.RGICNXM.
