Redmi Note 10 received first AOSP-based custom ROM

A couple of months ago, Xiaomi officially uncovered the Redmi Note 10 series in Indian and in global markets. However, there are some differences in the names of these smartphones in both regions, whereas the vanilla Redmi Note 10 is common.

The Redmi Note 10 offers a great specs sheet at a low budget. But don’t you think it would be amazing if we could run AOSP Android on these phones rather than just MIUI? So yes, the first AOSP-based custom ROM arrived for Redmi Note 10.

The ROM itself is an official build of Pixel Experience, a custom ROM project that aims to replicate Google Pixel’s software experience as closely as possible. This Android 11 based ROM brings pre-installed Google apps.

It also tries to port over or replicate, as many Pixel-exclusive features as possible, while also implementing some new features of its own. Moreover, according to the users in the official thread, this version of Redmi Note 10 is stable.

But as with every aftermarket ROM, you shouldn’t flash this to your device without at least being prepared to find bugs, you might come across something that has not yet been reported. Users have also reported Magisk to be working fine with this build if you also want your phone to be rooted.

Anyways, if you want to try it out, the following links will let you download and install it on your device. You can also see more information on Pixel Experience’s official website.

Note: Make sure to keep a TWRP backup of your phone’s essential partitions in hand in case something goes wrong.
