Surface Duo 2 smartphone is out of stock from Microsoft’s official website

Microsoft’s dual-screen phone Surface Duo 2 doesn’t seem to have much to sell. According to PhoneArena, the phone’s inventory at Best Buy is already low, and some places advertise the device and allow consumers to experience it for themselves.

The Surface Duo 2 kiosk has also disappeared, and there is no Surface Duo 2 available for sale. When you go to the Microsoft website and go to the Surface Duo 2 page, you will find that the configure button is not available. The Surface Duo 2 is also listed as “out of stock” in the Surface Duo 2 for Business listing.

Typically, this might suggest that Microsoft is about to launch a new generation of models. However, according to reports, Microsoft will not launch the Surface Duo 3 this year, instead focusing on software improvements, including the release of Android 12L for the device. Android 12L is a version of Android 12 made specifically for large-screen devices and will be pushed to Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2.

There are also reports that Microsoft is weighing moving the Surface Duo from a dual-screen device to a single-screen foldable device, such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Xiaomi’s MIX Fold 2. Surface Duo 2 was released in September last year and has two 5.8-inch AMOLED displays, each with a resolution of 1344 x 1892, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. It is provided with a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, a 2x optical zoom camera, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. It comes with a 12-megapixel front-facing camera and has a built-in 4449mAh battery, priced from $999.
