Intel Xeon Emerald Rapids processor spotted, supports DDR5-5600 memory

Although Sapphire Rapids may not appear, now the revealer @YuuKi_AnS has given a newer generation of CPU specifications. The Xeon CPU, dubbed Emeralds Rapids, is said to be the successor to Sapphire Rapids, using the same Eagle Stream platform but with some subtle changes, such as support for faster DDR5 memory.

The new product is also based on the Intel 7 architecture and the same platform, but it looks like Emeralds Rapids (EMR) will provide a 64-core model, while Sapphire Rapids only has a maximum of 56 Performance cores.

Moreover, Gen 4 Xeon “Sapphire Rapids” will provide 1 DIMM per channel (1DPC) configuration supporting 4800 memory, while Emeralds Rapids will support the same dual module per channel (2DPC) speed, but 1DPC (DIMM per channel) will increase to 5600 Mbps.

UPI (Ultra Patch Interconnect) links will now reach 20 GT/s, up from Sapphire Rapid’s 16 GT/s. Additionally, Intel will add TDX “trust domain extensions” for hardware-isolated virtual devices. Other than that, Intel didn’t highlight any other updates on the PPT.
