MIUI is a customized Android ROM developed by Xiaomi for smartphones and tablets based on the Android operating system. However, the company has banned its theme application on the Play Store. Users will no longer be able to update the Themes app from the Play Store.

As to why the Play Store and Play Protect treat the app as malware, the reason is still unknown. Xiaomi didn’t reveal anything about it, so we think it has something to do with some fake ban. You can see the screenshot below.
Temporary solution gets back Themes app:
Go to Setting ->App->Manage App->click 3 dots from the upper right corner -> Reset app preferences. You need to give permission for some apps after resetting app preferences.”
The currently known temporary solution is the one above, Xiaomi may update and fix this issue. If you see a warning that the theme app is malware, don’t disable it, as you may not be able to use the theme afterward.
