December is drawing to a close and it’s time for the annual recap. Recently, Google shared Google Play’s Best of 2021 list, which highlights the top apps and games from the Play Store. These Best of winners represent what’s next in-app and game development.
These selections called “Best Awards” are selected by the Google Play editorial team. Interestingly, there is also a category of “customer’s choice” that is based on consumer votes. Further, to encourage innovation across Google Play, the tech expanded this year’s awards to apps and games on tablets, plus apps on Wear OS and Google TV.

Alike the Best of 2020 winners, apps focused on personal growth were in high demand in 2021 as well. Another thing to mention before we get started is that the list’s most categories are based on the best apps for the US market and from a US perspective.
Google Play’s Best of 2021
Google Play’s editorial team chose Balance as the best app option. It is a well-known app for meditation and sleep. Its goal is to improve your stress, sleep, and more with a personalized meditation program.
This application is free to use for the first year and provides a great UI that is definitely considered by Google. It currently has a 4.8-star rating on the Play Store and has been downloaded 100,000 times.
