Black Shark 3 series receives MIUI 12.5 based JoyUI 12.5 update

Back in 2020, Black Shark officially launched the Black Shark 3 series gaming phones. The series includes three smartphones Black Shark 3, 3 Pro, and 3S. Among them, the latter one was launched in July while the other two were introduced in March.

All of these smartphones came with Android 10 based JoyUI 12 OS, which is nothing but customized MIUI 12. Later, they received an Android 11 update and are now receiving JoyUI 12.5.

Earlier this morning, the company itself announced that the Black Shark 3 series has now started getting JoyUI 12.5 update. However, currently, the update is not available for all users, the bigger roll out will begun at the end of this month.

The company explained eight main changes of the update. According to the officials, the phones now have support for the 5G SA function, Shark Sauce, Smart Cube, Tablet Mode, and Barrage Notification 2.0.

The firmware further adds a new control mode, auxiliary line function, game assistant, and new visual upgrade of game space. Lastly, the changelog mentions support for MIUI 12.5, which we are now familiar with.
