Why Google Search links are always purple for some users
A strange glitch is making Google Search links show up purple instead of blue for some people, even if they haven’t clicked them. Normally, Google uses blue for unvisited links and purple for ones you’ve already opened. This helps you know which sites you’ve checked out. But now, this mix-up is confusing users across different browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Brave.

The issue started about a week ago, and it’s been reported on Google’s support forums and social media sites like Reddit. Clearing your browser’s cache or history doesn’t fix it, and the problem even shows up in private browsing mode. Some users notice the purple links only appear when they’re signed into their Google account, but signing out brings back the usual blue links.

Google knows about this bug, but there’s no fix yet. For now, users can try signing out of their Google account to see if the links turn blue again. This glitch doesn’t seem to harm your device, but it can make searching less clear since you can’t easily tell which links you’ve visited. If you’re annoyed by this, keep an eye on Google’s support pages for updates. Hopefully, they’ll sort it out soon so your search results look normal again.
