WhatsApp’s new writing tool with privacy focus
WhatsApp is working on a handy new feature called Writing Help to make messaging easier for users on iOS and Android. This tool uses Meta’s AI to improve your messages by fixing grammar, tweaking tone, or suggesting better wording. It’s designed to keep things simple, so you can write polished texts without leaving the app. What makes this feature special is its focus on privacy.

It uses Meta’s Private Processing system, which processes everything on your device. This means your messages stay secure, and neither WhatsApp nor Meta can see them. If you prefer extra privacy, you can turn off Private Processing in the app’s settings or skip the feature entirely. It’s all optional, giving you full control. Right now, Writing Help is being tested in the latest WhatsApp beta versions (iOS 25.18.10.79 and Android 2.25.19.8).

It’s not available yet, but it’s expected to roll out in a future update. WhatsApp is also exploring other AI-powered tools, like message summaries, to help users stay on top of busy chats.
