Trump considers sending more patriot missiles to Ukraine
At a recent NATO summit in The Hague, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted he might provide Ukraine with more Patriot missile systems to counter Russian attacks. Speaking after a 50-minute meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said Ukraine desperately needs these defenses. “They want them more than anything,” he noted, responding to a Ukrainian journalist whose husband is fighting on the front lines.

He called her question “very good” and asked her to send greetings to her husband. Trump also expressed frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to end the war that began with Russia’s invasion in February 2022. During a recent phone call, Trump pushed Putin to focus on stopping the Ukraine conflict rather than offering to mediate other issues, like tensions between Israel and Iran.

However, Trump remained vague about additional U.S. funding for Ukraine, saying, “We’ll see what happens.” NATO’s 32 member countries reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that its fight strengthens the alliance’s security. Trump’s openness to supplying more aid marks a shift from his earlier hesitation, though he noted the U.S. also needs these systems, as does Israel.

His comments followed a heartfelt exchange with the journalist, highlighting the human toll of the ongoing war. Trump’s push for a resolution continues, but no firm promises were made on further financial support.
