Tech enthusiast runs iPhone system on Nintendo Switch
A tech lover recently pulled off an impressive stunt by getting Apple’s iPhone operating system, iOS, to work on an older Nintendo Switch. While millions of gamers have been caught up playing the new Nintendo Switch 2, one person, known as PatRyk on X, spent their time on this unique project.

PatRyk used a tool called QEMU, which lets different systems mimic other devices, to run iOS on the Switch’s Nvidia Tegra X1 chip. After two days of hard work, they managed to create a version of iOS that runs on the gaming console.

However, it’s not perfect. PatRyk shared that it takes over 20 minutes for the system to start, often crashes, and can’t open apps because they time out. This experiment is more of a fun challenge than something practical. The Switch’s hardware isn’t built for iOS, so it struggles to keep up. Still, it’s a cool example of what creative tech fans can do when they push the limits of their devices.
