Samsung’s ONYX Cinema screen shines in Europe at CineEurope 2025
Samsung introduced its newest Onyx Cinema LED screen in Europe at CineEurope 2025, held in Barcelona from June 16 to 19. First shown in the U.S. at CinemaCon in April, this screen is the world’s first cinema LED display certified by the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI).

It delivers movies in crisp 4K resolution and supports up to 120 frames per second for super-smooth visuals. The screen’s HDR technology offers bright, vivid colors, deep blacks, and a peak brightness of 300 nits for stunning picture quality. Available in four sizes—5, 10, 14, and 20 meters—the Onyx screen can be customized to fit different theater spaces.

It comes with a 10-year warranty, the longest in the cinema LED market, helping theaters save money while ensuring long-lasting performance. Samsung is teaming up with Pixar Animation Studios to bring movies to life in HDR. Pixar’s upcoming film Elio, set to release on June 18, will be shown in 4K HDR on the Onyx screen.

Pixar will also use an Onyx screen at its studio to fine-tune colors and brightness during movie production. At CineEurope 2025, Samsung is showcasing the Onyx screen and other cinema innovations to theater owners and filmmakers, highlighting its commitment to creating immersive movie experiences for audiences across Europe.
