Samsung ramps up Foldable phone production for the US
Samsung is quickly increasing production of its new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, for the US market to avoid potential tariffs. According to recent reports, the company is boosting its output to meet demand while keeping prices stable. Initially, Samsung planned to make 1.34 million units of its foldable phones in June, but has now scaled back to 930,000 units.

This includes 440,000 Galaxy Z Fold 7 units, 350,000 Galaxy Z Flip 7 units, and 140,000 units of the budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The decision comes after a global strategy meeting where Samsung adjusted its production from an earlier target of 400,000 units to 600,000 units specifically for the US. This shift aims to address the expected high demand following the launch in July.

Production is set to peak in July before slowing down in August as initial demand is met. Despite a cautious approach due to a predicted slow growth in the foldable phone market, Samsung remains optimistic about its US fan base. The company hopes to maintain its edge in the foldable phone space by offering slimmer, lighter devices with advanced features like upgraded cameras and AI software, all while navigating economic challenges and potential trade barriers.
