Pixel sense and voice edits coming to Gboard
Google’s Gboard keyboard is set to get exciting new features for Pixel users, according to recent discoveries in its latest beta version (15.5). One highlight is “Pixel Sense,” a tool that helps you complete tasks faster by offering smart suggestions based on your activity. For example, if you save a screenshot of a song or movie, Pixel Sense can suggest its name when you open apps like YouTube Music or Spotify, making it easy to paste without searching.

These suggestions appear in Gboard’s suggestion row, similar to the Pixel Screenshots feature introduced last December. Another upcoming feature is “SmartEdit,” which lets you edit text using voice commands. You can add, remove, or replace words just by speaking, offering a hands-free way to tweak messages or notes. Unlike regular voice typing, SmartEdit processes your commands and edited text through Google’s servers temporarily, but no audio or voice data is sent.

This feature follows Google’s Generative AI Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. These updates, spotted through an APK teardown, hint at Google’s plans to make Gboard more helpful for Pixel users, especially with the upcoming Pixel 10. While not yet available, Pixel Sense and SmartEdit show how Google is blending AI to simplify everyday tasks. Expect these features to roll out soon, likely starting with Pixel 9 and newer devices.
