WhatsApp has rolled out a fresh update for Android beta testers, bringing the app to version 2.25.19.7. This update introduces a fun new feature: a raised hand emoji for voice and video calls, now available to some beta testers. You can find it on the Google Play Store, and some users might access it by installing earlier updates.
This newly raised hand emoji makes group calls more interactive.
When you’re in a voice or video call, you can tap the emoji to signal you want to speak or get attention, just like raising your hand in a real meeting. It appears as a small animation in the call window, making it easy for others to notice without interrupting the flow. This is especially handy in big group calls where managing who speaks can get tricky.
The feature is rolling out to more beta testers in the coming weeks.
To try it, make sure you’re on the latest WhatsApp beta version from the Google Play Store. If you don’t see it yet, it might already be available in an earlier update, so check for those too.
