New Oakley Meta Smart Glasses: Longer battery and better video
Meta is teaming up with Oakley to launch a new line of smart glasses designed for athletes, building on the success of their Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The announcement, shared on social media, highlights a release date of June 20, 2025. These glasses, called Oakley Meta, aim to cater to active users who enjoy sports like tennis or skiing, with a focus on durability and performance.

The Oakley Meta glasses offer big improvements over the Ray-Ban version. They have a longer battery life, lasting up to eight hours, and come with a charging case that provides 48 hours of power. The camera now records in sharper 3K resolution, compared to the 1080p of the earlier model. Like the Ray-Ban glasses, they include open-ear speakers, microphones, and Meta’s AI for hands-free features like answering questions or capturing moments.

Priced at around $360, these glasses are built to be more weather-resistant, perfect for outdoor activities. The first model, the Oakley Meta HSTN, will be available for pre-order on July 11, starting at $499, with more affordable options from $399 coming later. Meta also plans to bring these glasses to countries like Mexico and India later this year.

Beyond Oakley, Meta is working with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Oakley and Ray-Ban, to create Prada-branded smart glasses. While details on the Prada model are still unclear, this partnership shows Meta’s push to blend style and technology for different users.
