New colors rumored for iPhone 17
Apple is reportedly experimenting with fresh color options for the iPhone 17 base model, set to launch in September 2025. According to a leaker named Majin Bu, vibrant purple and green shades are being tested. These colors could add a bold, fun vibe to the iPhone lineup, with purple being a likely choice, though only one might make the final cut.

The iPhone 16 currently offers colors like black, white, teal, pink, and ultramarine, so these new hues would bring a fresh twist. The iPhone 17 is expected to keep a similar design to the iPhone 16 but with some upgrades. Rumors suggest it will feature a 120Hz display for smoother scrolling and a 24-megapixel front camera for sharper selfies, compared to the iPhone 16’s 60Hz display and 12-megapixel camera.

Analyst Jeff Pu says the iPhone 17 will likely use the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16, made with TSMC’s 3nm process, and come with 8GB of RAM. Majin Bu’s track record is mixed. They correctly predicted iPadOS 26’s Mac-like menu bar but were wrong about iOS 26 adding Stage Manager to iPhones. Still, these color rumors have sparked excitement. The iPhone 17 could offer a small but noticeable upgrade, blending new style with improved features.
