Lucid Air owners can now enjoy Android Auto thanks to a recent software update. This feature, long-awaited since Apple CarPlay was added in 2023, lets drivers connect their Android phones to the car’s 34-inch Glass Cockpit display. The update, called Lucid OS 2.7.0, is rolling out over-the-air to all Lucid Air vehicles in North America and Europe.
With Android Auto, you can use your favorite apps for maps, music, and messaging right on the car’s screen. It works with a USB cable or wirelessly if your phone runs Android 11 or higher. You’ll need an Android phone with at least Android 9.0 and an active data plan. For setup details, Lucid’s knowledge center has all the info.
This update fulfills a big request from Lucid owners, making drives more convenient and fun.
Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Lucid’s Head of Software Engineering, said the feature enhances the driving experience without compromise. Lucid Gravity owners will get Android Auto support soon, though no exact date is set.
The rollout follows a delay, as Lucid promised Android Auto last fall but needed Google’s certification, which took time. Now, Lucid Air drivers can enjoy seamless smartphone integration, matching the premium feel of their electric vehicle. For more details, check Lucid’s official site or contact their support team.
