Iran fired over 40 missiles at Israel, hitting homes and buildings in three cities, including Tel Aviv. This came hours after the U.S. attacked three Iranian nuclear sites, escalating tensions in the Middle East. In Tel Aviv, a missile blast damaged a tall apartment building and nearby structures, like a nursing home, within hundreds of yards.
Emergency services reported 23 people injured, one seriously hurt by shrapnel, while others had minor wounds.
Israel’s air defenses, including the Iron Dome, tried to stop the missiles, but some got through, causing significant destruction. The Israeli military said it quickly destroyed Iran’s missile launchers and began striking military targets in western Iran.
Since the conflict started, over 9,000 Israelis have been forced from their homes, and 240 residential buildings, including 2,000 apartments, have been damaged.
The U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, called “Operation Midnight Hammer,” involved B-2 bombers and a submarine launching 75 precision weapons at sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
President Trump called the attack a success, but the full damage is unclear. Iran’s leaders warned of “serious consequences” and threatened U.S. bases in the region. The conflict, now in its ninth day, has raised fears of a wider war, with both sides continuing to exchange attacks.
