iPhone 17 Pro's new cooling system revealed

Rumors are swirling about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, set to launch in September 2025. A key upgrade is a new cooling system designed to keep these phones running smoothly during heavy tasks like gaming. A leaker named Majin Bu shared an image of what appears to be a copper thermal plate for this system.

Unlike the graphite sheets used in current iPhones, this vapor chamber technology is common in high-end Android phones, like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, for better heat management. The vapor chamber works by using a small amount of liquid inside a sealed metal container. When the phone heats up, the liquid turns into vapor, spreading heat across a larger area to cool the device faster.

This could prevent overheating during intense activities, ensuring consistent performance. If true, the iPhone 17 Pro models would be the first iPhones to use this advanced cooling method. Other rumored changes include an aluminum frame instead of titanium, a rectangular camera bump, and a new Sky Blue color.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max might also have a slightly thicker design for a bigger battery. These upgrades, paired with the A19 Pro chip, aim to boost performance and efficiency. While Majin Bu has a mixed track record, these leaks offer an exciting glimpse into Apple’s next flagship phones.
