Inside Look: Sony Xperia 1 VII teardown video
Sony’s latest flagship phone, the Xperia 1 VII, was recently shown off in a teardown video, giving us a peek at its inner workings. Released last month, this smartphone is now available in some regions, and its unique design stands out from other brands, though it’s quite similar to the previous model with a few small tweaks. The teardown, shared by Sony UK on their support page for professional recyclers, starts by removing the back panel.

A cool new feature is the addition of two ambient light sensors, including one on the back, which is a first for this series. The speakers and vibration motor look very similar to those in the Xperia 1 VI. There’s also a clever L-shaped microphone hole to prevent damage from accidental use of a SIM removal tool. Interestingly, the Xperia 1 VII has a tool-free SIM tray, a signature Sony feature that makes swapping SIM cards super easy.

The phone keeps its classic look with a flat glass back, flat sides, and a familiar camera setup. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, has a 6.5-inch display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a triple camera system. Plus, it still includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for music lovers. This teardown video not only highlights the phone’s build but also helps recyclers understand how to take it apart responsibly. If you’re curious about the Xperia 1 VII’s design or just love seeing tech up close, this video is worth a watch.
