Huawei-supported Maextro ev brand speeds up work on two new models
Maextro, a luxury electric vehicle brand backed by Huawei, is moving quickly to develop two new models after launching its high-end S800 sedan. The company, a joint effort with Chinese automaker JAC, aims to challenge top luxury car brands like Mercedes-Maybach. The new models include a smaller S600 sedan, designed to compete with premium German cars like the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class.

This push is part of Maextro’s plan to grow its presence in China’s fast-growing electric vehicle market. The S800, priced at around $140,000, offers advanced features like massage seats, smart glass, and fast charging, appealing to wealthy buyers seeking cutting-edge technology. Maextro’s goal is to produce 4,000 vehicles monthly by the end of 2025, showing strong confidence in demand for its luxury EVs.

The new models are being developed at a faster pace to meet this target and expand the brand’s lineup. Huawei’s role in Maextro goes beyond funding. The tech giant provides its expertise in smart systems and software, making Maextro’s vehicles stand out with high-tech features. This partnership highlights China’s growing strength in the global EV market, driven by the “Made in China 2025” initiative. As Maextro speeds up its efforts, it aims to deliver more luxury electric vehicles to compete with the world’s best carmakers.
