Google is already working on its Pixel 12 series, set to launch in 2027, and the codenames for these phones have just been revealed. According to a leak from Mystic Leaks, the lineup includes four models, each with a unique primate-themed name. The standard Pixel 12 is called “Galago,” a small primate. The Pixel 12 Pro is nicknamed “Sasquatch,” hinting at the mythical Bigfoot.
The larger Pixel 12 Pro XL goes by “Silverback,” a fitting name for a big gorilla. Finally, the foldable Pixel 12 Pro Fold is dubbed “Capuchin,” after the clever monkey.
These codenames follow Google’s tradition of using animal themes. The Pixel 10 series has horse names, while the Pixel 11 series uses bear names. The primate theme for 2027’s Pixel 12 series suggests Google is sticking with fun, nature-inspired labels.
The leak also confirms Google plans to keep the same four-phone lineup: a base model, two Pro versions, and a foldable.
Since these phones are still two years away, names or plans could change before the official release. For now, the codenames give us a sneak peek into Google’s future. Fans can expect the same mix of sizes and styles, with the foldable model continuing to stand out.
