Gemini app adds timed tasks for Android users
Google is rolling out a new feature called Scheduled Actions for the Gemini app on Android, making it easier to automate everyday tasks. This tool lets users set up prompts to run at specific times, days, or after certain events. For example, you can ask Gemini to give you daily weather updates, weekly news summaries, or creative ideas for a blog every Monday. It’s a simple way to stay organized without repeating the same requests.

To set up a timed task, just tell Gemini when and how often you want it to run. The app will confirm the task and turn it on automatically. You’ll see a card with a “Pause” button to manage it. To view or edit your tasks, tap your profile picture in the app’s top-right corner and find the new “Scheduled Actions” section. You can pause or delete tasks there, with a limit of 10 active tasks at a time.

If a task uses location, it will stick to the place where you set it up. Right now, this feature is only available for Gemini AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers on Android, not on iOS or the web version. You may need to update to the latest app version (16.23 beta) and force-stop the app to see it. Google announced this at the start of June, and it’s now reaching more users, helping them save time with personalized, automated updates.
