Former Tesla manager speaks out on company struggles
A former Tesla general manager, Matthew Labrot, recently shared his thoughts on why Tesla is facing tough times. In an interview with Hard Reset, he pointed the finger at CEO Elon Musk, saying Musk’s actions are hurting the company. Labrot, who worked at Tesla for five years and still owns a Tesla, started a group called Tesla Employees Against Elon to protest Musk’s decisions.

Just days after launching the group, he was fired. Labrot believes Tesla’s troubles stem from Musk’s leadership, which he says has damaged the company’s reputation. This has led to a big drop in sales, with Tesla selling 13% fewer cars worldwide in the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year. Labrot predicts even bigger sales drops in the future, saying the company is in serious trouble.

He doesn’t think Musk can fix things, calling the situation “game over” for Tesla. The interview has sparked attention because it shows growing frustration among some Tesla workers. Labrot’s bold comments highlight concerns about Musk’s focus and how it’s affecting Tesla’s success. As Tesla pushes into new areas like robotaxis and robotics, many are watching to see if the company can bounce back or if Labrot’s warnings will come true.
