Apple TV+ keeps the comedy wins coming with a new hit
Apple TV+ is having a great year with its funny shows, and its latest series, Stick, is no letdown. While the streaming service is known for big dramas like Severance and Your Friends & Neighbors, its comedies are shining just as bright in 2024. Shows like The Studio have grabbed tons of praise, with many calling it the year’s top comedy across all platforms.

Mythic Quest wrapped its fourth season with style, even if it didn’t pull enough viewers for a fifth. Murderbot also stands out, mixing sci-fi action with sharp, laugh-out-loud moments from star Alexander Skarsgård. Stick fits right in with Apple’s warm, heartfelt comedies like Ted Lasso and Shrinking, both created by Bill Lawrence. It shares a similar vibe to Trying, blending light humor with deeper emotions.

Owen Wilson plays Pryce Cahill, a former pro golfer whose life fell apart after a career-ending flop 20 years ago. Now divorced and working at a sports store in Indiana, Pryce sees a chance to turn things around by mentoring Santi, a 17-year-old golf prodigy played by Peter Dager.

The show is a feel-good story about finding family and chasing dreams in the world of golf. Apple TV+ is proving it’s a go-to spot for great comedies, alongside its sci-fi and drama hits. At $9.99 a month, it’s packed with must-watch shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, and Shrinking. Stick is another reason to tune in.
