Apple boosts F1 movie hype with Vision Pro racing experience
Apple is ramping up excitement for F1: The Movie, set to hit theaters on June 27 and stream on Apple TV+ later this year. As part of its big promotional push, Apple has launched a thrilling new feature for Apple Vision Pro users called Hot Lap Immersive, now available in the TV app. This experience lets users feel the rush of high-speed racing, with the film’s star, Brad Pitt, behind the wheel as he speeds around a track.

The Hot Lap Immersive is shot in Apple’s special 180-degree, 8K video format, making full use of the Vision Pro’s advanced technology to create a lifelike, heart-pounding experience. Apple has been heavily promoting the movie with a haptic trailer, an F1-themed sketch at WWDC, and a surprise appearance by Tim Cook and Brad Pitt at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store. While immersive content is a standout feature for Vision Pro, there wasn’t much available when the headset launched.

Apple has since stepped up, releasing new immersive experiences more regularly, including its first full-length immersive film, Bono: Stories of Surrender, last month. The company also introduced the Spatial Gallery app to showcase 3D photos, panoramas, and other content optimized for Vision Pro, making it a more exciting platform for users. This new racing experience is another step in Apple’s effort to bring unique, engaging content to Vision Pro fans while building buzz for the upcoming F1 movie.
