Xiaomi will launch Xiaomi 12 series on December 28. As of now, the company confirmed two smartphones – the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Among them, the base model is a small-sized high-end flagship, whereas, the Pro is an all-around high-end flagship.
This morning, the company officially revealed the camera of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 smartphone. Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi claims that Xiaomi’s 12 camera experience is greatly upgraded and it equips a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera.
The 50MP Sony IMX766 camera is a sensor size of 1/1.56” and a pixel size of 1.0μm. The large sensor size combined with increased pixel size offers a higher light intake compared to previous Sony sensors. It enables high accuracy for small objects and boosts focus performance in low-light conditions.
Aside from this, previously, the company announced that the forthcoming phone will use the new Xiaomi Image Brain technology. It is powerful and faster, capable of taking fast pictures, fast continuous shooting, and fast night scenes.

In addition, the processor of the upcoming phone is also known now. According to Xiaomi, it will equip the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. While considering the battery, the base model could have a 4,500mAh lithium cobalt oxide battery that supports 67W fast charging and 30W wireless charging.

Recently, a famous tipster revealed the images of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 smartphone. It displays a phone with smooth curves on the corner and edges. It further shows a curved 6.28-inch display with a center punch-hole camera and Xiaomi branding in the lower-left corner of the rear panel.
Compared to Mi 11 which has a square shared rear camera, Xiaomi 12 has a rectangular camera module that shows three cameras in a vertical arrangement. Moreover, the images appear in three colors.
