Wei Siqi is the new product manager of Xiaomi 12, launch next week

Xiaomi is said to introduce its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset-powered Xiaomi 12 smartphones this month, probably next week. Although the company is yet to announce the launch date officially, it has hinted at the early arrival.

Earlier today, Lei Jun – the founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi announced Wei Siqi as the new digital products manager of Xiaomi. He previously led Xiaomi’s CiVi lineup, which will now be handled by a young product manager – Hu Xinxin.

After getting the new post, Wei Siqi said that he now has a lot of responsibilities and pressure. In addition, he said the first product that he had to introduce is the upcoming Xiaomi 12, which will have some new definition ideas, hinting at its early launch.

Unfortunately, no other information has been revealed. We can expect that Xiaomi will start teasing the product soon as the launch time came nearer. For the first time when Xiaomi officially revealed Xiaomi 12 was alongside the release of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship chipset.

Besides this, a few days ago, Xiaomi 12 smartphone with 67W fast charging capacity was spotted at China Compulsory Certification database. On the other hand, Digital Chat Station said that the phone will pack a 4,500mAh battery.

Other than 3C, Xiaomi 12 will reportedly equip a 2K screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate adjustment, which can be switched according to the usage scenario. Aside from this, Xiaomi 12 will be featuring a 50MP telephoto and an ultra-wide lens set up.

A recent report reveals that the upcoming phone will sport a triple camera setup on the rear, which features an AG glass body, similar to the current Xiaomi CiVi.
