Xiaomi’s older Mi A3 smartphone is now getting the latest, December 2021 Android security patch in India and globally. This update doesn’t come with any new features or major changes but it only brings better system security and stability. In addition, it adds some bug fixes as well as reduces system lag for better system performance.
Moreover, the update comes with Android 11 based MIUI 12 build version V12.0.17.0.RFQMIXM. Since it carries a heavy package size of 1.5GB, we recommend that you should use an unmetered connection or WiFi to download and install it.

Just like other OTA updates, the new update is rolling out in a staggered manner. However, users can check its availability manually by heading to Settings > System > Advanced > System update to check if their unit has received the update.
