To be mentioned, the tech giant has already announced this feature in WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.21.13.17 version. However, it wasn’t permanent, the feature has been immediately disabled after a new update.
Today, WhatsApp is finally rolling out the new layout to select WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS testers. The below-mentioned preview (via WABetaInfo) shows that specific beta testers can now see voice waveforms in chat bubbles, but not always.
If the feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account, you can see the voice waveforms for your voice notes. Do note that the voice waveforms still may not appear when a voice note is received from someone who has the feature disabled or when a voice note has been recorded using an old WhatsApp version.
Availability:
As mentioned above, the new feature is currently only accessible for select beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. More activations are planned after releasing new updates.
