Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE to get three major Android updates in India

Following Global, Xiaomi is all set to introduce its brand new Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE smartphones in India on September 29. Ahead of its launch, a well-known tipster has revealed some worth noticing information about the device.

Most importantly, he unveils that Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will follow the new update policy of Xiaomi. It means that there will be three years of major operating system updates and four years of security patches for the phone.

Usually, Xiaomi offers two Android updates to its mid-range and flagship devices and three years of quarterly security updates. Well, a few days before the launch, the company officially confirmed that Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will be the first to accept the new update policy.

It seems that Xiaomi’s most mid-range and all premium smartphones will receive the new software treatment. With this move, Xiaomi demonstrates that this change will better meet the longer lifecycle of smartphones while improving the long-term security of those who depend on them.

Other than this, Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will be the leading new ‘Xiaomi’ branding, which is obvious. He further says that the product will be available in 4 colors and two RAM/Storage variants in the country.

Moreover, unlike the original Mi 11 Lite that was introduced in late June in India, the new 5G device will feature NFC for contactless payments via Google Pay and other supported apps. Like the recent Xiaomi phones, this one will also come with Google Phone, Google Messages, and Google Duo.

Lastly, the tipster claims that Xiaomi 11 Lite NE will cost more than INR 22,000 in the country. To compare, the product costs €369 ()INR 31,930) in Europe.
