Xiaomi has no plans to remove ads from its televisions in China

Similar to smartphones, Xiaomi also introduces its smart TVs with a few differences in distinct regions. One of such differences is ads. The company does not show ads globally but in China, it throws them as soon as the television boots up, and reportedly, Xiaomi has no plans to stop these commercials.

The Mi TVs and Redmi TVs run on MIUI for TV based on Android in China whereas, on Android TV software in international markets. In India, the televisions also come with a PatchWall launcher, which offers one of the best user experiences on smart TVs.

Moreover, the MIUI for TV mainly shows boot advertisements in addition to other types of ads like banners and pop-ups. These can be frustrating when you are navigating through the UI.

Thus, a frustrated Xiaomi TV user asked the company to delete ads from its televisions with discontent during a recent question and answer session held by the Xioami TV team.

In response to this, the company executive said that they are working hard to balance advertising and user experience as much as possible, for better service. It indicates that Xiaomi does not have plans to remove ads from its televisions in China, at least for now.

We hope that the tech giant will not plan to show such advertisements on global variants of televisions.
