Xiaomi is the new leader of global 5G Android smartphone market

Xiaomi is unstoppably achieving its goals, especially in smartphone markets. The tech is leading the smartphone markets of India and several other countries. In June this year, it has even become the world’s top smartphone vendor.

Now the firm has announced another milestone on its official social media handle. Following the report, Xiaomi has now become the leading 5G Android smartphone brand worldwide.

The firm further said that it has a 25.7% market share in the second quarter of this year. The company shipped 24 million 5G enabled smartphones during this quarter through its Mi and Redmi brands, reveals Strategy Analytics.

The report further states that one of the reasons behind Xiaomi’s success is affordable 5G smartphones. Since the beginning of this year, the company has introduced several 5G phones, such as Mi 10i, Mi 11X series, Mi 11 Ultra, and others.

The company’s performance places closely behind Xiaomi’s big rival Samsung. The Korean tech has shipped an impressive 77 million 5G smartphones worldwide over the previous 10 quarters. At the beginning of 2019, Samsung shipped the world’s first 5G smartphones.

Moreover, another Chinese company, Vivo was potted at second place with an 18.5% market share. With a share of 17.9, Oppo was third whereas Samsung and Realme came fourth and fifth. Their market shares are 16.7% and 5.9% respectively.

Vivo leads the 5G smartphone market in Asia:

Recently, the same market research organization has informed that Vivo leads the 5G smartphone market in the Asia Pacific region. The company had a 20% market share there while Xioami had 19.3%.
