WhatsApp to soon add quick payment method

WhatsApp recently introduced a payment method in-app. Now the developers are adding a new shortcut button for users to send payments through WhatsApp Pay to make it easier and quicker to use.

Identified via the build version v.2.21.17, the update is currently only accessible for WhatsApp beta users. Usually, the company doesn’t take much time between the beta and the stable release, thus, it will be soon rolled out to all users.

WhatsApp Pay

WhatsApp pay is built upon the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform, and it’s a part of a growing list of UPI-powered payments services, including Google Pay, Flipkart’s PhonePe, and PayTM.

Alike other payment methods, it can be used to send and receive money between two bank accounts free of charge in a fast and secure way.

Currently, users need to open additional menus and search for the desired function. But after the update, users will only need to go to the chat page and select the appropriate option. The change includes the appearance of an additional button right in the main chat window.
