WhatsApp is looking to add 90 days option for Disappearing Chat feature

Recently, WhatsApp introduced a disappearing messages feature where you could set a specific chat to self-destruct. Currently, if it is enabled, the app will delete messages after 7 days and more freshly.

The developers even started working on an option for doing so every 24 hours. But if you think 7 days is a short time, WhatsApp is now looking forward to adding a 90-day option to the WhatsApp Disappearing Chat feature.

According to WABetaInfo, when choosing this option, messages in personal chats as well as in group chats will automatically be deleted after 90 days. This will be seen along with the current 24 hours and 7 days option.

Moreover, the new 90 days limit was detected in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android with version number 2.21.9.6. It is reportedly under development now and is expected to be rolled out for beta versions of Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web first.

Besides, the social media application also has a view once option for photos and videos. However, it’s also not completely foolproof as it doesn’t restrict receivers from taking screenshots or saving media elsewhere, such as disappearing messages.
