After a long, Xiaomi is finally going to launch its new tablet, Mi Pad 5 in China today at 7:00 pm GMT. Ahead of the launch, the executives have teased several features of the tablet, while the latest one reveals a specialized software feature.
Liu Ming, the product manager of MIUI says that the forthcoming Mi Pad 5 series will arrive with a new MIUI Security app designed specifically for tablets. Unfortunately, he does not reveal anything about the application.

In case you don’t know, it came pre-installed on all Xiaomi smartphones and tablets. Also, it is responsible for many core features of Xiaomi’s Android skin. Thus, unlike other apps, it can’t be uninstalled, even on MIUI 12.5.
Being an integral part of the MIUI software ecosystem, the Security app contains a powerful set of protection and optimization tools. Its App lock, Data usage, Security scan, Cleaner, Battery Saver, Game Turbo Mode, and many other features keep a phone fast and secure.
Since these features slightly differ for tablets in terms of both UI and functionality, the company will introduce a redesigned app on the Mi Pad 5 series. Notably, as much as useful the MIUI Security app is, it is also the root cause of unwanted promotional notifications (aka Ads).
At the moment, we cannot clarify whether Xiaomi will be using the current MIUI Security application package for its tablets or will be releasing a separate package altogether.
