Xiaomi slightly increased the price of Redmi 9 Power and Redmi 9A in India

Xiaomi India has already increased the price of its several smartphones such as Poco M3, Redmi Note 10, and Redmi Note 10 Pro. Meanwhile, the Redmi 9 Power and Redmi 9A also getting value increment in the country.

As per the reporters, the price of these two smartphones has been increased by Rs 500, on both, offline and online stores. The new price of the phones are as follows –

Redmi 9 Power

  • Original Price – Rs 12,999 ($174)
  • New Price – Rs 13,499 ($181)

Redmi 9A

  • Original Price – Rs 7,499 ($101)
  • New Price – Rs 7,499 ($101)

Reason Behind Price Hike:

Previously, it was reported that the main reason for the price hike is due to the prolonged shortage of ‘Open Cell’ (panel) shortage globally. ‘Open Cell’ accounts for almost 70% of the cost of a television. India mostly imports them from China and Vietnam.

This, coupled with an unprecedented increase in shipping charges, has affected almost all the technology players, including Xiaomi.

About Devices:

Both smartphones flaunt 6.5 inches screen but the display on the 9 Power is Full-HD+, whereas, the 9A has an HD+ resolution screen. Under the hood, they are equipped with Snapdragon 662 SoC and MediaTek Helio G25 chipset respectively.

In terms of camera configuration, the phones have a single selfie camera on the front. The 9 Power has a quad-rear camera setup, which includes a 48MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, and two 2MP sensors for macro and depth shots.

The 9A has a single 13MP rear camera. On the front, they have 8MP and 5MP sensors respectively. When we talk about their batteries, the 9 Power has a whopping 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Whereas the 9A packs a 5,000mAh battery with standard charging speeds.
