It’s almost half of a month since July but Xiaomi is still sending the June 2021 Android security patches for its smartphones. Several Redmi, Mi, and Poco devices have already received the update while the Redmi 9C is the latest to grab it.
The June 2021 Android security update for Redmi 9C is currently only rolling out in global markets while it will be soon rolled out for other region users. Global users can identify the latest firmware via the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.15.0.QCRMIXM.
As mentioned, currently, the update is based on Android 10 and MIUI 12 OS but the device is also eligible for Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 updates. Thus, it will soon be receiving it.
Anyways, this security update will save your device from bugs and viruses as well as improve the security and stability of its system. Besides this, the official changelog for the update doesn’t mention any major changes or features, users may notice some after updating their phones.
