WhatsApp may allow users to send videos in different qualities

WhatsApp, a free-to-use messenger allows you to send pictures, videos, audio, documents, and others. But when we send an image or video to someone, its quality goes down, which is really troubling and disgusting.

Although one can share an original quality video on WhatsApp by sending the file as a document. But other social networking apps such as Telegram let users share videos at different quality levels.

Meanwhile, as per the new information, the Facebook-owned company is now testing a similar feature. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp calls this feature ‘Video upload quality’.

This new feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version v2.21.14.6. And, the shared screenshot shows that users can select from three quality options, such as –

  • Auto
  • Best quality
  • Data saver

Among them, the company recommends ‘Auto’ quality. They explain that the ‘Best Quality’ video are larger and can take longer to send. Whereas, the last one ‘Data saver’ will help you save your data.

Anyways, the video upload quality feature is currently under development. Thus, it is only available for a few WhatsApp users, maybe those using the application version number v2.21.14.6.

We expect that WhatsApps will soon make its wider rollout so that all users can take advantage of the feature.

Besides, earlier the last month, it was reported that WhatsApp is working on the highly awaited multi-device support features such as – disappearing mode, multi-device support, and view once.
