Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Pad 5 to arrive next month

Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Pad 5 series has entered the network for a long time now. The lineup is said to include three models, however, the names haven’t been clarified yet, it could be Mi Pad 5, Pad 5 Pro, and Pad 5 Pro+.

Ahead of the launch, we have seen a bunch of leaks about the upcoming devices. Among them, the latest one claims the launch time period, which could be next month (August).

Previously, the Redmi Product Director – Wang Tang has stated that the product will be officially released after the college entrance examinations. And, the college entrance examination scores in all parts of China have been announced. Therefore, all eyes are on Mi Pad 5.

Moreover, as per the new information, Xiaomi will be hosting a big event in August. There are speculations that the company will unveil the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 at the event.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 – What we know so far

Going by the previous reports, the codenames of the three upcoming models are – “Enuma”, “Elish”, and “Nabu” and their model numbers are – K81, K81A, and K82 respectively.

It is also reported that all the models will not launch at the same time, one/two models will launch in early H2 while the other will launch later this year. Rumors say that these devices may use different chips including Snapdragon 870, Snapdragon 860, and Snapdragon 888.

Whereas some reports say that all the models in this series will come with the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Thus, there is no accurate information regarding the processor of this tablet.

Besides, the tablets could adopt a right-angled edge design similar to Apple’s iPad Pro, as well as a thin and light body. About its display, it will have an LCD screen that supports a 120Hz high refresh rate.

In addition, its screen could be similar to the Mi MIX FOLD folding screen. This means that Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have functions such as a handheld PC mode, dual-screen drag and drop, parallel windows, and conference secretary.
